The Artware Partnership is able to undertake major etching projects on glass panels within its Workshops. Such panels are, routinely, up to 76cm. wide (30 inches). Wider panels can be accommodated but attract additional handling costs. The costs defined below apply to a minimum etched area of 800 sq. cm. (approx. 124 sq. ins.) on a flat sheet up to 6 mm. thick. Please note that this represents a minimum etching charge for panel work of £16.
The costs of such work break down as follows:
A) Artware Library Patterns & Designs
The Partnership maintains an extensive library of designs and patterns which are available to Clients. Eching of these to Client requirements 2p to 4p per sq. cm. (12.9p to 25.8p per sq. in.) of the approximate etched area (Primary Mask area - see below) depending on pattern complexity. In the case of preparing obscured glass with clear pattern then costs are based on overall panel size. Glass panel costs are quoted in addition on an individual basis.
B) Client Specified Design
1] design costs - can include original artwork prepared to Client instuctions by ourselves or preparation of Client supplied artwork. Evidently each case must be considered on its merits and quoted accordingly. The prices quoted below do not include any costs of research where this is necessary.
- for creation of new artwork a charge of 5p per sq. cm. (32.3p per sq. in.) of resultant etched area is applicable.
- for preparation of Client supplied artwork such as Logos, Coats of Arms, etc. a maximum charge of 3p per sq. cm. (19.4p per sq. in.) of resultant etched area is applicable.
2] etching costs - these are charged per square centimeter based on the area of the Primary Mask which covers the actual area of etching regardless of panel size, with an oversize border of approximately 1 centimeter. Etching costs vary between 2p and 5p per sq. cm. (12.9p and 32.3p per sq. in.) depending on the complexity of the design required. In the case of engraving obscured glass with clear pattern then costs are based on overall panel size.
3] glass panel supply costs - will be quoted on an individual basis.
4] handling and delivery costs - for handling panels supplied by the Client up to 1 m. wide there is a charge of £2.50 per sq. m.. Delivery is quoted on an individual basis.
C) Payment Conditions specific to etched panels & mirrors
Upon acceptance of a written Quotation the work will only commence upon receipt and clearance of funds amounting to 30% of the total value of the Order. Unless otherwise specified in the Quotation the balance of funds will be due on completion of the work.
